Fixing the English-style railings

The railing should preferably be fixed to the side of the supporting structure. This is the ideal, sturdiest fixing, which also has the advantage of preserving the useful space on the terrace.

If a gutter is installed on the supporting beam, the balustrade must of course be designed with an offset plate to allow the balustrade to pass in front of the gutter.

Fixing the French railings.

If you wish to install the guardrail on top of the decking, there is no need to drill the watertight gutters to fix the guardrail.

Use special anchors. These are very thick pieces of aluminium that slide into the gutter of the profiles. All you have to do then is screw on the fixing plate of your guardrail using self-drilling screws, which will grip the top fin of the Metadeck.

Be careful not to use screws that are too long, as they could pierce the watertight part of the gutter.

Lighting or light objects can be fixed under Metadeck profiles. You can drill the profiles before assembling them (from above), or from below, taking care to drill in the "triangle" area (arrow) and above all being careful not to drill through the gutter. Electrical cables can be routed through the profiles, in the triangular area where the screws are fitted.

In this photo, the screw is too long...
In this case, use screws no longer than 20 mm.

The same applies if you wish to drill the profile from below.

Install a depth stop on your drill.

Riveting is quick, practical and safe.
Here are a few illustrations. Make sure you drill in the "triangle" area !!!!

After drilling the profile, present the rivet.
